I wish I had a picture of me wrapped up in the dirty old blanket we found in the back of Big Red, that had been there for a few years. (I was desperate!) It was actually cold there!
Anyway, we discovered that Gold Butte is a pretty interesting place. Here I am in front of this huge sink hole, called Devil's Throat. It was really wide and deep, and kind of amazing.
It was lots cooler than these pictures make it look. These rocks aren't that big, but some of them were HUGE!
We had a picnic and drove all over the place and had a really fun day. And now we can say that we've been to Gold Butte.

im surprised big red still runs... my word. that truck is so old, and i swear the breaks were out back when i drove it in high school. i would be scared. but that looks like a fun day at gold butte. ive never been there, but it looks cool.
I've never even heard of gold butte, but it looks pretty cool. Sounds like a really fun day! That devil's throat looks neat, but kind of scary!
How fun. We haven't been out there in a couple of years. That's it I NEED a gator!
I love that last picture...I miss the desert. Gold Butte looks really cool. I agree with Hilli...that sinkhole looks scary! I would be scared to stand by it. But what a fun day.
Did you make any butt jokes along the way? That looks like a fun and cool place. I miss the desert too. :(
