Truman Keel Larsen

I can't believe I made it here to Hawaii in time for the birth of my seventh grandbaby to make his entrance. Truman was born at 12:33 on 09-09-09 (cool huh!) after poor Cassidy had been in labor for 2 1/2 days! She was a trooper though. Here she is after finally being admitted and given the pain relieving epidural. She doesn't know it yet, but the worst is yet to come........

After being nearly worn out from the days of labor and no sleep, Cassidy began the pushing ordeal, which lasted almost two hours. James and I were pretty good cheerleaders during this. Even though I have been through childbirth five times myself, I hate watching my daughters go through the valley of the shadow of death! It just about kills me to see them suffer! Just when Cass thought she couldn't endure any longer, he was finally born. He was the cutest little baby. Not so little, actually. A whopping 8 lbs. 10 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. He is almost a little chubby!
First family photo. Isn't Cass' hair cute? She got hot and sweaty so the delivery nurse shoved it all up in an elastic. Cass has a ton of hair, and it's super long, so I thought the nurse did as good as could be expected!

Sweet picture of Mommy and babe.
Proud Daddy.
Already getting his little scowl going.........

Here he is all ready to go home from the hospital in his cute little outfit.
I'm so proud of Cassidy and her new little one.

What I love about Truman is how he loves to snuggle right up in your neck and just lay there. He also loves a binky, which I always love in a baby. And he loves his Grammy Jo, I can already tell!

Cass and I did a little photo shoot the other day with Truman in a basket with the handmade blankets from Grandma Q. and Me. Does he look like Moses in his little basket?

Last evening we went to Ala Moana Beach Park and went on a little walk along the beach. It was very pretty, and good for Cass to get out of the apartment for awhile.

The new little family with Diamond Head in the background. I'm so glad to be here in this beautiful place with Cass and James and brand new little Truman.

I'm so glad you ended up getting here for the delivery, even though it meant I was in labor for 2 1/2 days! We have been having fun with you here - what am I going to do when you're gone?? I'm glad Truman got to spend some time with his Grammy Jo. He is going to miss you as much as I am!

Cass is a little trooper! I can't believe all that she went through, and she is doing so well. I agree with her though--it is always hard right after Grammy Jo leaves. That is when my kids always start being little stinkers. They just want Grammy Jo!
Truman looks so sweet and adorable. Although I still wish we could call him "Trumie." :(

We loved having Jolynn here to help with the baby, and we already miss the help. Truman has been a good boy since we have been on our own, so we have our fingers crossed.
