Time Out for Women

Well I guess everyone thought I was through with blogging, and I almost was. I have had no time in my life for blogging and just thought I would give it up. But in the end I decided to keep plugging along and try to get Christmas blogged about before next December. And no, this is not my Christmas post. Not there quite yet. On November 11 and 12, my sister and I took Mom to Time Out for Women in St. George for her birthday. It was such a fun weekend, and I think Mom really enjoyed it.
We heard lots of different speakers, including this cute and fun speaker from Sierra Leone named Mariama Kollen. She had such a wonderful message of hope and forgiveness, and her personality and sense of humor were delightful, in spite of the horrors she has been through in her life. She made you laugh and she made you cry. Don't you just adore her hat??
Hillari Weeks provided the music, and again, we laughed and cried. I love her voice, and she did more than just sing her songs. She spoke about how her songs came to be written, and just had some wonderful stories to tell.
On Saturday before Mom and Shell drove home we drove way out to this little restaurant out in the middle of now where that we had heard about for dinner. It seemed like we drove forever, and when we got there it was pretty pricey, but I thought it was worth it. My meal was super yummy, and it was a really unique place. All in all it was a very fun weekend and one that I will always remember.
I hope we can do this again sometime!

Time out for Women looks and sounds so cool. I wish I lived near one. Wouldn't that be fun if all us girls went together? Maybe someday. How fun that you and Aunt Shelly and Grandma got to go. I'm curious about this restaurant, though. What kind of food was it?

I would really love it if me and my girls could all go to Time Out for Women sometime!! That would be so fun. And I don't want to have to wait until I'm 80 to do it! The restaurant was just gourmet food. Not any particular kind, just really different and yummy.

I went to TOFW here in Phoenix and heard a lot of those same speakers/singers, and they were really good. I would have loved to here Miriama Kollen or whatever her name is though. And you guys all look so cute and like you had a fun time together. Glad you got to go. We should try to plan it sometime, but it would be tough with nursing babies, young children, etc...that's probs why you have to be 80 before something like that can come together. :(

How fun...I am so sad I missed it yet again. We'll keep trying though. Okay what is the name of the restaurant? You got me curious now!
