Blarney, It's a Party!

Even the Not-So-Irish eyes were smiling when we had a little St. Paddy's Day party Tuesday night and invited the Robertson's over for the traditional fare of corned beef, potatoes, and cabbage. I made some yummy green punch and a green cake as well. Connie was thoughtful and brought the flowers and a spinach salad, so we had plenty of green, plus a big chocolate cake. Here's a picture of our dinner.
It was actually really good, and we decided to make it a tradition every year on March 17th. Connie and I had the low fat green "pop" cake with sugar free, fat free pistachio pudding for dessert...........

While Jeff and Lance had the mega calorie mile high chocolate cake and ice cream. As you can see, they didn't skimp on the size. We had to get out the big plates for them!

After they ate dessert, this is what they did:

I don't think they could move! They did enjoy watching the basketball game though. We all had a great time. I guess I should explain my "Kiss Me I'm Pirish" shirt. At school the kids decided that St. Patrick's Day was all a ploy from our rival school to get us to wear green (their school color). So they had shirts made up in our school colors that we all wear on St. Patrick's Day every year. Here's a picture of one of the many clever badges they gave out:
Just one of our many fun traditions!

Weekend In Phoenix

We went to Phoenix last weekend to see the kids and grandkids, and strangely we did not take very many pictures. We went to the children's museum on Friday evening and took some pictures there, but then I don't know what happened.........except that Sareny got sick, and when that girl gets sick, she wants to be held 24/7. So all day Saturday we took turns holding a sick girl. We had a fun weekend anyway, and here are some pictures from Friday.
Isaac insisted on wearing his batman mask on the way to the museum. We finally convinced him to leave his Bruce Wayne disguise in the car when we got there, citing numerous mistfortunes which could happen to it.

Finley is the sweetest little girl! We didn't capture any pictures with her smiling, which is odd, because that's all she does!

I love these two kiddies!

Bampa and I took Finley to the room reserved for the littlest ones where she could crawl all over and play with toys. She loved it!

Finley even met some little friends there. Saturday we just took it easy and sat around a lot (although Jeff and Keith got up early both Friday and Saturday and went golfing). We had a fun weekend though, as we aways do when we visit our grandkids. I even loved snuggling with sick little Sareny because when she gets sick she always says "I just want Grammy Jo" and I am never there for her. But this time I was!
